House of Gordon USA
Welcome to the
House of Gordon USA!

We are the families of the Scottish Clan Gordon in the United States of America. Our mission is to preserve
and promote our unique heritage and Celtic culture, as we enjoy the fellowship and support of family and
friends. Come Join Us at the Gordon Tent!

The Gordon name is synonymous with the rich history of Scotland and dates back to the 11th Century. It is a
name to be proud of and deserves your interest and support. The Board of Directors of House of Gordon
USA invites you to join our Clan Society.

WHAT WE DO

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to create, stimulate and sustain an interest in
Scotland, its history, traditions and culture; to bring together people of Gordon heritage; to
promote goodwill and understanding among its members and the general public; and to perform
charitable works.
The “Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship Fund” provides scholarships to aid our
youth in further studies of the Scottish arts and education. Our Scotland charity is the Gordon Highlander
Museum in Aberdeen, Scotland which tells the history of "the finest regiment that ever was." We honor the
men and women of Clan Gordon who are serving or have served in the defence of our nation with the Wall
Of Honor. We promote genealogical research, and the Gordon DNA project, host tents at various Celtic
Festivals & Highland Games across the USA and many other worthy projects which encompass our Clan
Gordon history and cultural heritage as well as providing community service.

NEWS

HOUSE OF GORDON USA 2011 AGM WELCOMED CHIEF
                    & NEW OFFICERS ELECTED

The Chief of the Clan joined us at Seaside for the 2011 AGM
and showed all just how blessed the House of Gordon is to have
an active, involved Chief full of wit and charm and interest in all
things Gordon! The Most Honorable Marquess of Huntly, aka
the Cock of the North himself, was out and about surprising all at
the Seaside Games by opting to walk about informally without
the Seaside usual piper and entourage accorded to the event's
guest of honor, visiting all the clan tents and many events. He
even showed off some of his Highland dance skills and wowed
everyone with his friendliness making the Gordons the envy of
all the other clans who wishing that their clan chiefs were so
    approachable!

The AGM was full of surprises for those who had never been to
the Highland Games in California before with things like tartan
surfboards and a dart competition (so English pub!). The biggest
surprise though came at the AGM itself with the election of officers
nominated from the floor.  Pictured left: Lynne Gordon, VP; Nellie
Lowry, Treasurer; Roger Mills, President; Laura Whiteside,
Secretary.

Kevin Gordon Honored by International Police Association!

Kevin Gordon received the Service Through Friendship Award for 2010 at
the 2011 AGM for the International Police Association for his dedicated
service in the US Sector. Congratulations Kevin!

Charles O. Gordon Memorial Scholarship

We are pleased to announce that Azure Davis of Richmond, VA is the first
recipient of the Charles O. Gordon Scholarship in 2011.

She is an academically gifted student and exhibits the drive to be
successful in all she does. Her love of the dance is evident in her hard
work and dedication as she strives to perfect  the movements of each
dance to make her performance crisper. She is always willing to help other
dancers master a difficult technique, and it is this combination of hard
work, dedication and esprit de corps  which has made her a winning
    competitor.

We are pleased to announce Maria Taylor of Farmington, MI as our final
recipient of the Charles O. Gordon Scholarship for 2011.

Maria is a talented young lady who is pursuing her passion of Highland
Dance through her involvement with the Alma College Kiltie Dancers as
well as individual competition. She has already taken the Associate's and
Member's Exams and is currently working on more advanced qualifications
and hopes to inspire future generations through teaching.
